"Bud" Schulman's book, along with contributions
by John McGill and David Gage, is an update and extension of his
1983 book on transitions. The original book became
well-read and a part of most Medical-Dental School libraries.
Dr. David Gage has contributed a chapter on Interpersonal
Relations for when a doctor is considering partnership in
a growing practice. David is a well-respected psychologist
with a specialty in "Dispute Resolution" of interpersonal
partnership problems. His chapter is valuable for those solo
practice owners who are considering that step.
John McGill, C.P.A., M.B.A., J.D., contributed two chapters
on the taxable aspects of practice purchases to buyer and
seller. He further contributes his considerable knowledge
on Tax Avoidance as practiced by successful practitioners.
The chapters of the book are:
- When-Why Partnership from the Young Doctor's Standpoint.
- When-Why Partnership from the Senior Doctor's Standpoint.
- Partnership Function.
- What is a Practice Worth?
- Some Added Thoughts on Practice Valuation.
